City of Miesville: A Breif History

The small village of Miesville, Minnesota was founded in 1874. The village was named after its founder John Mies. Originally Miesville was a part of Douglas Township, but in 1851, it was incorporated as a city.

In 1884, a post office was established which stayed in operation until 1903. The post office was first called Trout Brook.

Today, the city of Miesville is a small town with about 125 residents who take pride in their community.
